  • Babies and Spring

Well, it's been a long time (again) since I've posted. I've been posting fairly regular pictures of my tummy on facebook but haven't got any up here yet.....so I'll post a link with Lots of tummy pictures. :)
I've had a couple friends who had their babies this past week....it's gotten me excited about our little one coming...but also a little nervous as one of them had a really rough labor.... I know God will take care of me and Twinkle. :) Baby has been quite active lately, lots of rolling around and kicking. :) There tends to be alot of activity during church services.......especially this morning. :) Well, I guess we're just starting a little early in the training up a child part. :) Speaking of this morning, it was very good to be able to spend time remembering all that our Lord has done for me and for my little one....That he had all of us in mind so long ago, blows me away.
We're getting ready to do some remodeling in our house. I'm going to be taking before pictures this week and then after pictures...whenever we're done. :) We're hoping we can be finished before Baby comes. :) We're re-doing the kitchen and the bathroom, updating everything - floors, counters, cabinets, bathtub, stove.....all sorts of stuff. We've had lots of friends and family volunteer to help with the work so at least Sam won't have to do it all by himself. :) For some reason they've decided I can't help.... :( hehehe And we've had lots of good advice from friends who know what these projects normally take. :) (Thanks Mr Jones!!!!!!!!)

Well, that's about all I've got time for right now. Here's pictures......

So I finished my wedding album right before Thanksgiving! Wahoo! We're still waiting on getting the book back from the printer/binders but here's the digital layouts of the album. Thought ya'll might like to see it.

    Our Wedding Album

We had a great Christmas and New Year's! Busy but lots of time with family. It was lots of fun. We also had a great 1st Anniversary. Sam took me on a weekend trip to a B&B. It was sooooo much fun!

We felt Twinkle move!!!!!! It's been fun. So far we're still doing great. Our next doctors appointment we'll schedule our next sonogram! We're not finding out if it's a boy or girl but more pictures will be fun.

  • Leftovers

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did! I was so completely and utterly exhausted though, I will think twice about hosting big holiday gatherings at my house while I'm pregnant. We had my whole family and most of Sam's family here for Thanksgiving. Both of our moms and one of my sisters came on Wednesday to help cook everything. Then everybody else came on Thursday morning. We had a great day of just being together, playing games, throwing a football, and eating yummy food. We also had several college students over who weren't able to go home for the holiday. It was a really fun day, it was so good to see family!
Then on Friday we girls went shopping. Another thing I'll avoid doing again while pregnant, shopping on Black Friday. I guess needing naps everyday hasn't been warning enough for me to change the way I do things. Oh well, I've survived. We had a longer day then we planned on but got some good deals. I got about half my Christmas shopping done!!! Then family went home and we spent the next couple days just resting.
We had a doctor visit yesterday and got to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time! It was absolutely incredible! I'm showing pretty well now when I wear my normal clothes, but when I wear maternity clothes it hides very well. I'll work on getting pictures up soon.

I thought I'd post this recipe which I seem to remember several people asking for last year....but I don't think I ever posted it. If you still have turkey leftovers, this is the Perfect thing to make that doesn't even remotely resemble Thanksgiving dinner.

Turkey Enchiladas (originally chicken, which you can also use)

    1 onion           1 - 4oz can chopped green chilies                 1 can tomatoes
16oz sour cream                  1 small fryer (of chicken or equal amount of turkey)
    corn tortillas                     cheese

Saute onion with a little garlic in olive oil. Add chopped green chilies and tomatoes. Let simmer on low.
Mix turkey with sour cream and some cheese. Soften the tortillas in the sauce (without burning yourself). Fill tortillas with turkey mixture. Cover with remaining sauce and then cheese.
Cook at 350 for 20 minutes.
Makes 20-28 (depending on how much turkey you use and how full you fill the tortillas)

  • EXTRA EXTRA!!!

    Read all about it.....

Great News!!!!! We are expanding the family!!!!!
We just found out that the littlest Miller is on the way!
No exact date yet but we're guessing early June.
We now start the hunt for a good doctor around here who is covered by our insurance, and reading up on what exactly our insurance will cover.

Other then that....Well, we got a puppy a couple weeks ago! He's tarting to learn the house rules. :) He's adorable and we love him lots. His name is Bowie -like Jim Bowie...or Bowie knife... :) So for any of you not from TX that's Boo'-ee. :) I have pictures up here - Puppy He's a bit bigger then any the pictures...those were right after we brought him home and he's growing fast. He's Golden Retriever and Labrador, so he'll be big. :)

Other then that we're enjoying our house and just living life. :)

Ummm....lets see if I can remember what's happened since February.......

    Hi all!
So yeah....since it's been forever since I posted this will probably only include the short versions of events and happenings.  But it will be something!
Let's see the last things I wrote about were our wedding and our initial move to Longview.....Since then.....
We've made lots of trips back to Arlington since we've moved out here to east TX although they have gotten a little less frequent as of late. And My family has been ale to come out and visit us a few times too. In May my brother Jonathan graduated from high school! It was really neat. He started college this fall, he's going to DBU. I think he's doing well so far. Yay!
Amy and I got to drive to west TX for Tara's wedding! That was really fun. Amy's posted about that a long time ago.  It was so neat to be able to be there! Then my family drove me back home to Longview on my birthday and we got to spend a day at the park and eat ice cream and watch a movie. My hubby surprised me with a present when I got home too. He was at work when I got home but he left flowers and a "knight in shining armor" to go with my other knight and dragon. And sweet little notes all over the house.
June and July we were house hunting and praying that God would show us if we needed to stay in the apartments or if we should go to a house. We got to spend July 4th with lots of friends from church. We went out to someones house and they shot of some really neat fireworks.  I've never been that close to fireworks before!!! It was really fun, and there was a bluegrass band too! (all of them are members of our church) We had a picnic, everybody brought their supper, and popsicles and a bounce hosue for the munchkins. :) It was alot of fun. (have I said it was fun yet?) hehehe
July we did alot more house hunting. Found several we liked but things didn't work out. August rolled around and we found this house! Got a contract on it and started getting things rolling.  It's a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house. Has a good sized living room and a seperate dining room. Screened in backporch! A Backyard!!!!! And a covered parking place for Sam's car. At the end of August we closed on this house!!!!! We were able to get the house for $2,000 less then we'd origanally offered! That was nice! (It didn't appraise for the amount we offered so we lowered our offer to meet the appraisal. If you've never bought a house it's ok that you don't understand.  I barely understand it and it's my house!) LOL Anyway, we got to closing and it ended up being a little more then they said it would be in up front costs. But God is good and has stretched our money and food and everything we've needed has been provided somehow.
Labor day weekend we Labored hard! :) We finished packing and moved from the apartment to the house!!!!! Wahoo! Sunday August 31st we spent our first night in our own house! My family got to come out and help us and we had enough room for everybody to sleep!  We also had lots of friends help too! It went really fast and it was kinda fun!  Definitely hard work but fun.  I'm hoping we don't have to move again for a while. By Monday night we had the house looking pretty good. I've only got a few boxes left and we'll be all the way unpacked! I'm going to start painting this week. I'm painting both of the bedrooms, one just needs a few touch ups and the other we're repainting completely. They left the paint they used so I'm starting with the touch-up and trim in the "office/study" bedroom. I'll hopefully get some pictures taken after I'm done painting and all the pictures are on the walls.   We've been in the house for 2 weeks now!!!! Yay! We like it. It's much bigger then the apartment and no one is banging on the ceiling above us.
We just had the Ike storm  blow through here on Saturday. It wasn't too bad. We had a lot of power outages. We had power through the worst part of the day so we thought we'd be ok but then lost it Saturday night. We finally got power back Sunday night just in time to make supper! Our yard was covered in little sticks and leaves, we had a few bigger branches come down but they didn't do any damage. Praise the Lord! While we had no power we got to use our new camping latern! We had a picnic on Sunday, PB&J on the front porch. Yesterday we went to church and it was so neat to be able to sing His praises. To hear His people come together after a storm, some with power, some without, some with more damage done to houses and yards then others, we even had a few people staying at the church that had come up from farther south to get out of the worst of the storm, but all gathered together Praising His Name. Because we know who is in control, we know that He was watching over us even in the midst of the storm however big or small.
So, now I am off to try and start painting. I'll also try and get some mroe yardwork done.
Hope all of you are doing great!
